Red Heather is our mid-winter go to. Drive is realatively short, access is easy, and there is a warming shelter. In the last month we have gone up there twice with different friends of ours, and I am sure we will go a number of times again over the next couple of months. Both times we went the powder was bottomless, so the skiing was great. F loves the deep snow, she just swims around in it. F has also become a lot better at skiing down the road. The first time we were there she skied almost to the bottom just holding Christian's hands. The second time she only skied the top part as she was quite tired. I can't blame her - it was almost dark and it had been a long day. The skin-in that day was extended with 5km due to someone thinking that the chain up sign didn't apply to them. They were stuck just pasted the chain up area and the tow truc denied to go up there. Parks had closed the road at the turn off way at the bottom. Here is a video of F skiing (not at Red Heather but at Cypress cross country area in between our two trips)

We have been to Red Heather during our vacation in Canada last year. We really enjoyed our stay at the lovely place. The knee-deep snow is perfect for sledding. We indeed had fun that we decided to stay overnight. We rented a cabin there to stay for the night. I'm looking forward to visiting the place again.
